It started as a small local project and kept growing! The Colorado outdoors is a powerful force in my life. Stewardship of our natural resources is more important than ever. I set out to create an environmentally responsible option for children’s playsets.

The average functional lifespan of a playset is 3-5 years. But a cedar or redwood playset can last 35 years, or more. The timber waste, mostly from pine and fir playsets, is alarming and unsustainable. By increasing the functional lifespan of redwood and cedar playsets to 25+ years an environmentally sustainable product is achieved at a fraction of the cost of a new set.

Thus far 123 Playset has rescued and restored over 70,000 pounds of material and is projected to surpass 100, 000 pounds in 2023.

When kids discover the beautiful playset on which they are playing was on its way to the landfill or going to rot away in a stranger’s backyard they are impacted. It is my hope that a seed of stewardship is planted in them and it will have time to grow during countless hours active outdoor play.
